Webinar: The future of personalized genomics

Available on-demand

Join us for an engaging discussion in this webinar. Together, we'll highlight how you can advance your hematology research with next generation sequencing (NGS).

In this webinar, you will:

  • Learn the pivotal role NGS plays in genetic profiling and personalized medicine.
  • Understand how targeted panel sequencing allows for deeper investigation into genetic research questions.
  • Explore spike-in panels, like the xGen™ CNV Backbone Hyb Panel, to help you broaden readouts.
  • Review data and findings from an exome sequencing project and genome-wide CN-LOH assessment.

Manja Meggendorfer, PhD

Head of Molecular Genetics,
MLL Munich Leukemia Laboratory

Manja is responsible for R&D with emphasis on NGS in leukemia diagnostics, especially on the ongoing 5,000 whole genomes projects aimed at a better understanding of leukemia’s genetics. She studied biology at the Universities of Tübingen and Munich with focus on human genetics, immunology, and bioinformatics. She received her Master of Science in Biology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and her PhD in collaboration with the Helmholtz Center Munich working on gene regulation within the architecture of the cell nucleus. After her post-doctorate, she moved to the field of hematology as a scientist in the department of molecular genetics at MLL. Besides leukemia diagnostics, her scientific work focuses on mutational patterns and their prognostic impact within different leukemia entities. She has published and contributed to more than 50 scientific papers in hematology in the last seven years. In combination with her MBA in Health Care Management the aim of her work is also to improve the diagnostic and prognostic work to optimize routine diagnostic approaches for patients with leukemia or lymphoma.
